An early fork off Sealy Tarns Track heads to Kea Point, which is 30 minutes away and offers easy-to-reach views of Mount Sefton, Mueller Lake, and Mount Cook. The track is gradual at first, passing through subalpine grasslands and scrub. Beginning on the western side of White Horse Hill car park, you’ll start your journey to the Sealy Tarns via the Kea Point track. The wide path is well signposted and its easy nature allows you to warm up before the big ascent to come. The climb is steep and challenging in places, but the views of the Hooker Valley and Mount Cook from the top are epic. Bring plenty of water and a hat - there's not much shade along the way. Return via the same track or continue climbing up to Mueller Hut. Climb over 2,200 steps to the stunning Sealy Tarns in Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park. A challenging hike with unbeatable views of Mount Cook, Hooker Valley and Mueller Glacier. Best walked in summer or autumn. Easy and short walk to a viewpoint of Mt. Cook and some interesting moraine glacial deposit. Large section of the path is board-walked and majority is a gentle incline; small section with some rocky path but nothing very difficult. Note that if it is overcast Mt. Cook is not visible! Climb the 'stairway to heaven' to Sealy Tarns, and enjoy spectacular views and alpine flowers. To say it has the wow factor is an understatement.
